Collingwood House, Grade II*. Formerly a house, now Catholic Presbytery. Late 18th-early 19th century. Brick in Flemish bond, ashlar plinth. Slate roof. Two storeys, seven bays - doorways in first and fifth. Ground floor with two-pane sashes; first floor with 12-pane sashes. Very long, two storey, rear wing, includes a late 19th century Gothic wood porch.
Inscription of 1905 commemorates Vice Admiral Lord Collingwood who lived here from 1791 till his death. (1)

C18 second half. 7 windows, cut-and-rubbed brick flat arches (very rare in this district), stone Tuscan doorpiece with very elaborate fanlight, memorial tablet over front door, roof of old small grey slates; the 2nd door, giving access to back, has stone doorpiece with Tuscan pilasters and looks later than the front door. Of great local interest as the home of Admiral Collingwood, to which he often referred in his correspondence. The garden terrace overlooking Wansbeck remains. (4a)
