Belsay Tilery (Whalton)
This is the site of a 19th century tilery. Three tile kilns still stand here. They have their original fronts with wooden doors. Each kiln has a steep roof and a chimney behind it. (1-5)

The tile kilns and associated cay pits are visible as earthworks and structures on air photographs and lidar. The pits lie to the south of the kilns and some areas appear to be no longer extant on the latest 2016 lidar. (6b-c)
