Concrete pillbox on outskirts of Wylam. (1)
World War II pillbox and searchlight battery is visible as earthworks on air photogaphs taken in 1946, centred at NZ 1159 6515. The searchlights, gun emplacements and associated buildings have been levelled and destroyed. The concrete pillbox still survives and lies on top of a post medieval tramway (see HER 31314). (2)
