Ebchester Heugh flints (Hedley-on-the-Hill)

One microlith and three scrapers found at Ebchester Heugh. Finds in Sunderland Museum. NZ 100558. (1)

NZ 100558. Ebchester Heugh. Two cores, 25 blades/flakes, one scraper, in Sunderland Museum. Unspecified number in Museum of Antiquities' records from Ebchester Heugh. (2)

NZ 099561. Flints collected from ploughed land on the top of Ebchester Heugh, on the north side of and above the river Derwent. Collected 1962-1964. Museum of Antiquities Newcastle, Accession no. 1964.6.2 box 104a. Includes cores, debitage and retouched tools. PaMeLA id 13107, artefact id 21397 to 21401.
NZ 100558. Ebchester Heugh. North of the river Wear. Same as noted by Feathers in early 20th century. NB Bulk patinated blue/white and very likely to be Mesolithic. Both chalky and very battered pebble cortex. All shades of grey flint and some speckled. Sunderland Museum, Accession no. 113.1964 (b). Donated by W.Dodds. PaMeLA id 13109, artefact id 21406 to 21409. (3)
