Cross dyke (Brinkburn and Hesleyhurst)
Between 6000 and 4000 years ago, during the later prehistoric period, a stone and earth bank was built across the spur of Lordenshaw Hill. This dyke was probably a land boundary. The dyke is part of a Scheduled Monument, protected by law.
