Pauperhaugh pillbox (Brinkburn and Hesleyhurst)
This pillbox was built in 1940, one of a string of pillboxes built along the course of the River Coquet to prevent enemy penetration inland during World War II. The pillbox is hexagonal in plan and built of concrete. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
