Cambo shrunken village (Wallington Demesne)
Vague irregularities in the ground surface in fields south and east of Cambo village perhaps indicate that the settlement was once of greater extent than it is now. They have all been over ploughed with later ridge and furrow cultivation. It is known that the village was re-organised in about 1740 and it is likely that the earthworks belong to a period earlier than this.
