Axe (Matfen)

A late Bronze Age looped and socketed bronze axe was found in 1834 at Ingoe. (1)

Found in an 'old camp' at Ingoe March 1834, in Case H: No 212. (2)

No further siting evidence. There is no 'old camp' in the vicinity of Ingoe; possibly the old village earthworks (NZ 07 SW 13) are meant. (3)
