White House Farmhouse (Capheaton)
The farmhouse is mainly 18th century in date, but has an earlier building at its core. The earlier structure is late 16th or early 17th century in date and has walls about 1.4m thick. This suggests that it was probably a defensible building, such as a bastle or strong house. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
