Possible Roman road (Bywell)
An overgrown stone culvert is thought to lie on the site of a suspected Roman road. The site was excavated in 1990 and a 6m wide road was uncovered. It had a camber, rough kerbs and a large ditch along each side, and several 4th century Roman coins were discovered.
