Wearhead Institute, East side of Front Street, Wearhead (Wearhead)
The Institute was built in 1900 (1). Corbels support the rainwater goods. Ribbon pointing has also been used in the building's construction. Building has a projected two storey porchway, the entrance on the second storey accessed up a stone staircase on the right hand side of the building. The front gable of this porchway has a clock in the tympanum above the lintel bearing the name of the building. Just below this are two war memorial plaques and hooks for the hanging of remembrance wreaths.
The hall also contains two First World War memorial plaques that were once in the village Methodist Church until it closed (2-3).
