Workmen's Institute (site of), Kelloe (Kelloe)
The institute first appears on third edition Ordnance Survey maps of 1919-26 (1) just to the north of a school. The institute is re-labelled as a 'Hall' on sixth epoch maps of the 1960's (2) but is no longer marked after the seventh epoch maps of the 1970's (3). Streetview images of the site just off Bradyll Street in 2001 (4) show that there is no longer a building on the site, now overgrown and seemingly used as an allotment.
The institute once contained a First World War memorial plaque, now known to be located in St. Paul's Methodist Church (NZ 33892 36110) on the south side of Sharon Avenue close to the Kelloe and District Working Men's Club (5-6).
