This village hall was built in 1929 on land bought from the Raby Estates. It is run as a charity, administered by trustees (1). The building is single storey, constructed of red-brick with rendering on the upper sections. Short chimney stack over the western gable, the roofline of the eastern end of the building is slightly lower with two sky-light windows in the north facing side of the pitched roof. The village hall is known to contain a First World War memorial that was once in the local school (2). The school was sold off and is now a private residence. In 2013 a local historian won her battle for a WW2 plaque to be hung in recognition of Newbiggin inhabitants' efforts in WW2 (3).
