The church is stone built, rebuilt about the year 1728 on the site of the former church, probably using many of the materials from the original building (1).

The church is located to the south of a group of farm buildings, uphill from the road through the village in its own secluded churchyard. It has two long slender lancet windows on the west facing gable, itself surmounted by a short belfry structure over the apex. Two porches protrude from the main body of the church, one on the eastern end of the north wall, the other on the western end of the southern wall. The church contains a number of features dedicated as war memorials (2).

A church is recorded at this site as early as 1229, but the present church is of late 19th century date. No traces of the earlier church are visible. (3) (4)
