Granite cross on tall tapered column with large pedestal and three steps. Set on a paved area to the side of the path through the south west section of the churchyard inside a gravel bed with raised kerb and low railings. Dedication carried on front face of pedestal, carved and lead-filled: To the Glory of God / and / in undying memory of / the men / of Merrington / who gave their lives / for their country / in the Great War / 1914-1918 / and the world war / 1939-1945. First World War names listed in two columns one of the side faces of the pedestal, WW2 names in one column on another face. Unveiled 1921, WW2 part of the dedication and names added later. (1-2)
