Granite/sandstone drinking fountain on a square base with two steps located just off centre in a triangular village green opposite Abbeywood on the south side of the A68. Monument constructed of a square plinth surmounted by stone drinking fountain basins (fittings are missing), the top of the structure carrying a carved stone urn with decorative pinnacle. Dedication on the front face of plinth in memory of men of Fir Tree who made the supreme sacrifice in the First World War and WW2. Names are incised into the sides of the plinth. Evidence to suggest that the monument was wholly relocated after c1930, an old photograph showing the monument on four steps instead of two, located next to a building rather than on the village green (1-2).
