Royal British Legion War Memorial (Dubmire), Fence Houses (Fence Houses)
All wars memorial: upright slab of polished red granite outside the Royal British Legion Building on the north side of Britannia Terrace. Single line gilded border around the edge with the word "Dubmire" centre top, the badge of the Royal British Legion in the centre and the inscription " We will remember them" across the bottom of the front face. Red poppy motifs located top left and right. Two stone pillars (one either side of slab) are linked with a chain that crosses the face of the slab, intended to be used as a mount for wreaths during remembrance services. The slab stands on a single step which is filled with gravel for receiving wooden crosses. Two associated flagpoles are located behind the slab at each side. The whole memorial arrangement stands in a small garden at the front of the building behind a wrought iron fence, black with golden painted spikes. (1)
