Esh Winning Community Hall forms the central building of a double winged complex of old people's bungalows on the north side of Woodlands Road, opposite Mackenzie House Surgery. The central building has the highest pitched roof and is slightly projected in relation to the row of bungalows either side. The entrance of the hall is known to contain a First World War memorial plaque that was once located in the Esh Winning Miner's Memorial {Hall D34673}.

Along the road front, two low white walls bear bronze plaques set into grey granite borders and flank either side of the entrance driveway. The plaque on the left of the gate carries a quotation underneath the dates 1914-1918; the plaque on the right bears the dates of WW2 and explains that the memorial was erected by the community of Esh Winning, Waterhouses and East Hedleyhope and is dedicated to those of the area who gave their lives in two World Wars. The grounds between the walls and the buildings are actually a World Wars memorial garden of remembrance. (1-2).
