Located in the area that used to be the car park of the Civic Centre, Park View. The monument is in the form of a cross of wheel type on a slender octagonal column resting on a plinth that has a wreath carved in half relief on all four sides. This all sits on top of a two-stage pedestal that carries the dedication and names of fallen soldiers from WW1 and WW2. The upper course of the pedestal is dedicated to the First World War with names in four columns on all four sides. The lower section is dedicated to WW2, again with names in four columns on all four sides. There is also one name from the Korean war inscribed on the front face of WW2 pedestal section. The memorial was moved to this location from Aynsley Terrace in 1958. (1-2)
