Memorial Cottages, Chilton (Chilton)
Located on the east side of Main Street almost opposite the Wheatsheaf pub. Erected 1924 as a first-aid station for Chilton Colliery, the cottages bear a large slate plaque that was unveiled at the same time as the cottages. The plaque is dedicated to those of Chilton Colliery who gave their lives in the First World War, names listed in two columns. Above the slate is a lintel bearing the dedication. The cottages are now used as a clinic. (1-2)
