Butterknowle Methodist Chapel (Butterknowle)
Butterknowle Methodist Chapel first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey map of 1894-1899 (1) and is still present on the sixth epoch OS maps of 1960-1969 (2). It is after this point that new buildings appear on the map in the location of the original church. Modern aerial photographs (3) and Google street view (4) show that the building is now used as part of a modern housing estate. In its time as a Methodist Chapel, the building housed at least two war memorial plaques which have now been relocated to the village hall (5-6).
