Church of St. John the Evangelist, Holmside Lane, Burnhope (Burnhope)

St. John's Church was built c.1865 and first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey map of 1894-1899 (1). The church contains a number of items dedicated as war memorials connected with various conflicts. In the aftermath of the First World War the tower, clock and peal of bells were dedicated as a war memorial with an associated plaque that was unveiled in 1923 (2). The church contains a number of other features dedicated as war memorials (2-3).
