The war memorial of Brandon Village is located just to the south of The Prince Bishop public house (formerly The Three Tuns) on Sawmills Lane. It takes the form of a freestone obelisk surmounting a squared pedestal that sits at the top of four stone-coursed tapering steps. There is a cross raised in half relief on the front face of the column whilst the names of the fallen soldiers from the First World War are incised on all four faces of the pedestal on arch-topped gravestone shaped pieces of stone. The memorial was unveiled in 1921 then restored and rededicated in 1989 after the addition of the names of soldiers from WW2. (1-2)
