Oblique view of Bishop Middleham War Memorial December 2016

Memorial cross of wheel type, twelve feet high on a square tapering stone pedestal atop three steps. The memorial is dedicated to the men of Bishop Middleham and Mainsforth who laid down their lives in the First World War. The dedication is on the front face of the pedestal whilst the names of the fallen soldiers are carried on the other faces. Unveiled 1921.

At the foot of the memorial is a carved stone book which was added to the structure as a later feature dedicated to the fallen of WW2. A newspaper article from the 11th November 2013 states that the local parish council are hoping to secure funding to restore part of the memorial by repairing a large crack in the base and re-engraving the names.
