Located roadside along Carville High Street, the obelisk and surrounding pillars were moved to this location in 2009 from their original position outside St. Mary Magdalene Church just to the south where it was unveiled in 1919. The obelisk is on a pedestal on top of three steps. The names of fallen soldiers from the First World War are listed in single columns on each face of the pedestal.

Surrounding the obelisk and pedestal are four pillars at the corners of a paved area with outer kerb. The two rear pillars are taller and dedicated to the fallen of the Second World War, whilst the two shorter front pillars are marked for Other Conflicts. These pillars were initially unveiled in their original location outside St. Mary Magdalene Church in 1947, but rededicated after restoration and installation in 2009 in their current position. (1-2)
