Site Details

"The Blue Heaps", Consett (Consett)

An area of ground associated with Consett Park and known locally as "The Blue Heaps". The heaps appear to represent the results of an early experimental blast furnace. It is likely therefore that the site represents some of the earliest post medieval industrial working in Consett. It is probably of 19th century date.
