This rock carries the remains of cup and ring marks on it. These carvings probably date to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age. Their purpose is not known, but they may have a religious meaning. These carvings are Scheduled Monuments protected by law (1).
Prehistoric carved rock partly covered by turf, located on the north flank of Kearton Rigg. The exposed part measures 1.5m by 0.55m and 0.3m high. The carving consists of at least three cups, several other possible cups and some grooves. (7)
