Hall Park, Croxdale (Croxdale)
Walled garden and landscape park to Croxdale Hall. The park is early-mid 18th century in date.The walled garden was designed by Lewis Kennedy for William Salvin during the late 18th century. During the 1790s William Salvin planted the grounds with a number of recently introduced species from North America. Further planting took place during the mid and late 20th century. A series of post medieval tree enclosure rings are visible as earthworks on air photographs. The parallel tree enclosure rings form an avenue aligned east-west and consist of alternate square and circular banks. The tree enclosure rings have been levelled on the latest 1989-1995 Ordnance Survey vertical aerial photography.
