Palisaded hilltop enclosure, Briar Dykes, Baldersdale (Romaldkirk)
This earthwork enclosure stands on the summit of the hill. It has an earthen bank and a ditch. The ditch probably originally contained a wooden palisade. This site is probably the remains of an Iron Age settlement. This is a Scheduled Monument protected by law (1).
