St. Michael's Church AKA St Michaels Church, Rokeby (Greta Bridge)
This is the site of the old parish church of St Michael at Rokeby. The first mention of a church at Rokeby occurred in 1205. However, in 1740 Sir Thomas Robinson of Rokeby Park built a new church to the west of Rokeby and adjacent to the modern A66. The site of the old church is now marked by earth covered banks. To the southeast is the base of a medieval churchyard cross. Several grave slabs and covers lie to the south of the church. (1)
