Moat of Cockfield Hall, Cockfield (Cockfield)

This moat surrounds the seventeenth century Cockfield Hall. It is dry and has a flat bottom. A few stones on an earthen bank on the edge of the moat may be the remains of a wall (1).

Square Medieval moat at Cockfield Hall. Now much weathered, mutilated and partly overlain by farmhouse and outbuildings. (7)
