Gold armlet findspot, Shotton Hall, Peterlee (Shotton)

The remains of a gold armlet was found in the garden of Shotton Hall in 1881. It is made of two parts; one half is made of strands of metal twisted like rope. The other half is rougher and made of gold wire. This object is thought to be of Roman date.
