Pittington Colliery
Opened 1820, it had three main shafts by late 19th century. Latter two shafts appear on a historic map .
The post medieval colliery is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. Later 1987 Ordnance Survey vertical photography shows that the colliery has been levelled.
