Semaphore signal, Byerley Road, Shildon

There is a semaphore signal in the bushes opposite the former Masons Arms Public House, at the point where the lines from the wagon works crossed the road. This signal dates from much later than 1825 but is a remnant of the busy lines running through Shildon from the wagon works. (1)
