Working Men's Club, Edward Street, Sacriston © DCC 09/03/2022

The club first appears on the third edition Ordnance Survey maps of 1919-26 (1). The footprint of the building remains the same right through until mapping data of the 1970's (2) when the building seems to have been extended at the rear, possibly re-built. Streetview images (3) show that the club today is quite a large building with rendered walls and brick-built extensions to the side fronting onto Edward Street. Name sign on this side of the building shows that the club was established and registered in 1902. The club is known to contain a war memorial Roll of Honour (5) and another memorial that was moved here when St. Peter's Church closed (6).
