Church Army Housing Plaque on No. 16 New Street, Durham © DCC 25/03/2022
This street has an inscription on the gable end of a terrace "New Street 1905". Number 16 has a tablet inscribed "Church Army Housing Ltd". The street is named after William New. He was a prominent member of Durham's Co-operative movement, an organisation that built some of the terraces in the area. (2)
