Thornley Working Men's Club, Hartlepool Street (Thornley)
A building first appears here on the third edition Ordnance Survey maps of 1919-1926 (1). Today this building is known as Thornley Working Men's Club and Institute. Streetview images (2) show a red brick building with a gable end fronting onto Hartlepool Street. It is known that a club has been in existence here since at least the First World War as the building contains a war memorial dedicated to members who fell fighting (3-4).
