The village of West Pelton lies on the southern boundary Urpeth parish with some buildings spreading over into the parish of Pelton. A number of war memorials can be found in buildings of West Pelton that make up the (so far) known record of memorials in the wider parish of Urpeth. St. Paul's Church is known to contain an elaborate white marble plaque carved in the Gothic style that commemorates members of the church who fought and died in the First World War whilst a memorial chapel was built to commemorate WW2. The chapel contains a book of remembrance and a chest with a plaque dedicating it to a fallen soldier. The Methodist church also has a number of memorials including a WW1 font and a WW2 pair of vases.
